WHO: Joey Salvaggio is chef de cuisine at Arvine, a modern American restaurant in the West Village.

ABOUT: Salvaggio began his culinary journey at the International Culinary Center of New York. After graduating, he spent over two and a half years at the two Michelin-starred Daniel, gaining extensive experience under the industry’s top professionals within the Daniel Boulud Dinex Group. Seeking a new opportunity, he moved to Gabriel Kreuther, another two-Michelin-star establishment. There, he was quickly promoted to Sous Chef, a role where his creativity began to flourish under the guidance of Chef Gabriel and Chef de Cuisine Joe Anthony. During this time, he  found his culinary voice and style, and his professional relationship with Joe Anthony blossomed.

Following three years at Gabriel Kreuther, Salvaggio embarked on his next venture, becoming the Executive Sous Chef at Le Café, the first Louis Vuitton restaurant in America. While Joe Anthony was developing a new project in the West Village, the two stayed in frequent contact, leading the pair to team up once again, with Salvaggio taking on the role of Chef de Cuisine at Arvine. The restaurant was spotlighted in The Infatuation’s “NYC's Most Exciting Fall Restaurant Openings” and Michelin’sRestaurant Openings to Have on Your Radar.”

WHAT:
After meeting at the two-Michelin-starred Gabriel Kreuther, Chef Joey Salvaggio and Chef-Partner Joe Anthony opened Arvine last October, bringing their fresh, modern American perspective to the West Village.
