WHO: Jackie Carnesi is the Executive Chef of Kellogg’s Diner, the hotspot that reopened in Williamsburg in 2025.

 

ABOUT: Growing up in Texas, Jackie Carnesi’s relationship with food was fueled by her parents’ passion for cooking. After earning a business degree from St. Edward's University in Austin, Carnesi decided to enroll at the Culinary Institute of America at their Greystone campus in California. At 25, Carnesi moved to New York City and worked the line at Empellón Cocina under Rising Stars alum Alex Stupak. Wanting to implement more of her creative vision, Carnesi moved on to Roberta’s in Bushwick where she spent her six year tenure developing new menu items. In 2021, she interviewed with Scott Hawley and Michelle Lobo in search of a more senior position at the duo’s restaurant, Otis. They, however, had other plans, and instead hired Carnesi as executive chef for their new project Nura, where she was named a StarChef Rising Star in 2023, among other accolades.  

In 2024, Jackie was recruited by seasoned restaurateur Louis Skibar (Coppelia, Amarena, El Fish Marisqueria, Old John's Diner) to lead the kitchen team at Kellogg’s Diner. At Kellogg’s, Jackie’s menu features a variety of classic diner favorites alongside a handful of dishes inspired by her home state of Texas. The New York Times ran a huge feature on the renovated eatery and Eater, the Infatuation and Grub Street are all fans.
