Fabrizia Lanza - Anna Tasca Lanza Cooking School
WHO: Fabrizia Lanza is an author, filmmaker, and visionary director behind the internationally acclaimed Anna Tasca Lanza Cooking School nestled in the rolling vineyards and olive groves of Sicily’s historic wine estate.
ABOUT: Born in Palermo into the renowned Tasca d’Almerita winemaking family, Fabrizia’s early life was steeped in the rhythms of farm-to-table living. After a 25-year career as an art historian and museum director across Italy and France, she returned to Sicily in 2006 to join her mother’s cooking school and, following her mother’s passing in 2010, took the helm. Under her leadership, the school has blossomed into a global epicenter for Sicilian food culture — blending hands-on culinary technique with deep explorations of agriculture, tradition, and community. Her immersive programs, including the transformative Cook the Farm experience, invite students to understand cuisine from seed to plate, enriching every lesson with history, terroir, and meaning.
Fabrizia is also a celebrated author and filmmaker whose books — The Food of Sicily, Coming Home to Sicily, and Olive: A Global History — have brought the island’s vibrant flavors to kitchens around the world. She has produced acclaimed documentaries such as Amuri: The Sacred Flavors of Sicily and Amaro, preserving beloved foodways and rural wisdom for future generations. Recognized internationally as a storyteller and educator, Fabrizia travels widely to teach, lecture, and share Sicilian gastronomy with chefs and food lovers alike, making her classes unforgettable journeys into culture, taste, and tradition.
