WHO: James Hackney is the executive chef at Wequassett Resort in Harwich, MA, where he oversees the kitchens at five restaurants including Twenty-Eight Atlantic.

ABOUT: Hackney has helmed the culinary team at Wequassett for the past decade. He is credited with elevating the status of Twenty-Eight Atlantic to its coveted Forbes Five-Star status (the first and only in Cape Cod). Originally from Leicestershire, England, Hackney was inspired to begin a career in the culinary world by working at his parents’ Garden Hotel, a quaint inn located in the English countryside. Before Wequassett, Chef Hackney served as chef de cuisine at Boston’s legendary L’Espalier and other notable restaurants such as Blantyre in Lenox, Massachusetts and Charlie Palmer’s Aquaterra in Palm Beach, Florida.

Hackney will share the recipes and techniques behind his award-winning seafood dishes, drawing on his many years of sourcing the best fish in Massachusetts.
