ABOUT: Executive Chef Antelmo Ambrosio started out at the critically acclaimed SouthWestNY after its reopening from the 9/11 attack. Born in Mexico’s culinary capital, Oaxaca, he grew up surrounded by world-famous chefs and top-notch local ingredients. Now he uses those very same influences to create luxurious interpretations of classic French and American dishes with Asian and Latin American influences.
Bar Director Amir Babayoff developed his craft at some of New York’s top venues, including Five Nine, Barley & Grain, The Bryant Park Hotel, and Oceana. He joined Ophelia, the Art Deco-inspired rooftop cocktail lounge in Midtown, in 2018 and has been developing eclectic menus — inspired by the preservation of Ophelia as a historical landmark — ever since.
WHAT:Inside the kitchen and bar of one of New York's classic buildings — Ophelia sits atop Beekman Tower, the iconic art deco tower on the East River built in 1928 — we will get hands-on with both Executive Chef Ambrosio and Bar Director Babayoff as we prepare elegant dishes paired with creative cocktails.
