WHO: Albert Di Meglio is chef-owner of Barano restaurant in Williamsburg and founder of the natural wine shop Spirit Animal.

ABOUT: Di Meglio, a native New Yorker with deep roots in Staten Island, spent his formative years inside kitchens throughout Italy and prestigious establishments like Windows on the World, Le Cirque, Osteria del Circo, and Rubirosa. Barano is South Williamsburg’s wood-fired seasonal Italian restaurant, where he puts his spin on the classic dishes he grew up with. The food is centered around the wood-fired grill. The  restaurant is named after his grandmother’s hometown. Just a few doors down, he founded natural wine shop Spirit Animal to showcase the biodynamic and organically grown wines often found in the restaurant.

WHAT: It’s a delicious trip through the heart of Southern Italy as we explore the refined flavors of Campania. Dishes will be perfectly paired with select wines and cocktails from his wine shop, Spirit Animal.
