In 1977, Peter & Patricia Lenz, having closed their well-known restaurant, A Moveable Feast, were in search of a new adventure. Inspired by the efforts and successes of their friends, Alex & Louisa Hargrave, they purchased a property on the North Fork and planted gewurztraminer, cabernet sauvignon, merlot and a small amount of pinot noir. The old barn, originally part of the Krupski farm, was converted into a tasting room and The Lenz Winery was formally established in 1978.
Peter & Patricia Lenz chose not to produce wine from their vineyard until 1983. Instead, they followed the French and German tradition of cutting oft the fruit just as it was forming in order to ensure the development of a deeper root structure. Patricia Lenz explained, 'The patience it took to wait years to taste the fruits of our labors was not easy, but wait we did. And it was worth it."
The Lenzes immersed themselves in the developing wine region, working with the Hargraves to establish the Long Island Wine Council. "They held the standard of both quality and innovation high."
In 1988, the Lenzes passed the reins to Peter & Deborah Carroll who already had a successful vineyard in nearby Cutchogue. The Carrolls initially leased The Lenz Winery, purchasing it outright in 1994.
S.Pellegrino's sources have been monitored through geological and hydrological studies that analyze each phase of the water's journey. The water flows from the snow and rain of the high Dolomite Mountains (1200-1300 meter ASL) and takes around 30 years to arrive at the foothills of the mountains (350 meters ASL), where it is sourced.
S.Pellegrino goes through a 30-year journey inside the earth that mineralizes the water through contact with underground rocks. In the process, it becomes naturally enriched with mineral salts, calcium and magnesium. And with our special addition of carbon dioxide, S.Pellegrino water acquires its bubblies and signature "perlage." The added CO2 provides the acidity and slightly bitter note. All of this gives S.Pellegrino its unmistakable taste, making it famous throughout the world.
Acqua Panna has come a long way in terms of quality of its production facilities. Today the plant is one of the most technologically advanced bottling plant in Europe producing water that has a natural ph balance of 8.0.
The first Acqua Panna was manually bottled in the 1860s from a plant built in one of The Medici's farm buildings. Sold in demijohns or fiaschi, straw-covered glass flasks now used for Chianti wine, the water was delivered by horse and cart to Florence. In 1927, after War World I, the water was bottled in glass on an industrial scale.
Acqua Panna production facility stretches over a surface area of about 20,000 m2, perfectly blending into the natural environment.
At the very heart of Tuscany, a land of timeless and uncontaminated beauty, Acqua Panna flows pure, limpid and fresh from natural spring unveiling all its uniqueness and its fine taste. Since the Renaissance, to be inspired and experience the Tuscan way of life means to perpetuate an ideal of simplicity, elegance and balance in arts and culture, but also at the table .

The majority of Syosaku’s kitchen knives are handcrafted by artisans from Sakai, a port city in Japan that has a century-long history of creating knives originating from forging samurai swords. Each process of creating the knives is divided among specialists and small producers, forging the metal, creating the handles, combining the knives, and finishing them. Depending on the knife, it can take up to six months for the artisans to fully craft a finished product. Some of our knives are produced in another historical samurai-based knife-producing area in Japan: Tsubame-Sanjo.
All Syosaku knives are ready-to-use out of the box with extreme sharpness. Each knife can be custom ordered to cater to the consumer’s preference in a variety of different wooden handles, handedness, and each knife can be engraved with a name in Chinese characters. Syosaku makes kitchen knives that can be used by professional chefs and home cooks. Our knives are very strong and use a variety of metals depending on the model.

In one of the most competitive markets for Italian food importers in the world - New York City - Pietro BrembiIla and Brian Persico started Sogno Toscano in 2007 by private-labeling truly Italian extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar for local restaurants and their regulars. With top-quality product, beautiful labels and great srvice, their reputation grew across the city and attracted the attention of prestigious chefs and more restaurants. After early success in a saturated market, they invested in their brand meaning 'Tuscan Dream" in order to ofter their clientele access to food products that were being exclusively consumed in Italy, as well as to represent the very best that Italy had to ofter to the American market.
Our slogan is" We Are a New Generation of an Old Tradition, which means that as Italian food products and cuisine evolve, we evolve as well , while still honoring their beautiful history.
