WHO: Miguel De Leon, wine director for Pinch Chinese.
ABOUT: Miguel was named one of the “75 People Working to Build a Better Drinks World” by Imbibe, and was the inaugural recipient of the Michelin Guide Sommelier Award in New York City for his work with natural wine and hospitality advocacy. In 2022, he earned the prestigious James Beard Foundation Media Award for Personal Essay - Long Form for his work about intersecting identities and decolonization, and was named in the inaugural class of Wine Enthusiast’s Future 40, tastemakers and innovators shaping the way we drink now. His writing has appeared in Bon Appétit and Wine + Spirits Magazine and his work has been featured in The New York Times, Food + Wine, Grubstreet, and Eater, among others.
WHAT: De Leon is a noted expert on natural wines and will lead a tasting of wines from unexpected places that provide spectacular pairings; all of the wines are made by very small producers and a few are exclusive to the restaurant, releasing for public consumption for the first time outside of Pinch Chinese.
