WHO: Ayesha Nurdjaja, chef/partner of the Eastern Mediterranean restaurant Shukette and executive chef at Shuka.
ABOUT: A Brooklyn native of Italian-Indonesian heritage, Nurdjaja captured the spotlight after working at several Michelin-starred restaurants including Picholine, A Voce, and Lidia Bastianich’s Felidia. In 2015, along with restaurateurs Marc Meyer and Vicki Freeman, she opened SoHo favorite, Shuka. In 2022, she was a finalist for the James Beard Best Chef New York Award.
