I want to thank you for arranging what was one of the BEST trips that Gordon and I have ever been on. You can’t even imagine what a wonderful experience it was for us! I could go on and on but I will refrain and just say THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!! You are terrific!!!!!!

Hi Arlene,

My apologies for not emailing sooner. Ken and I want to go on record and say that this was our best DeGustibus trip so far. I know we say that after every one but this time it's true. As we reflect on Piedmont we know that in one short week we had the opportunity to experience this magnificently beautiful area from many different perspectives. It's serene beauty surpasses that of other parts of Italy and we had just enough but not too much nebbia so we could recognize the unique weather and yet still see as far as the snow covered Alps on a clear day. We also appreciated the variety of the culinary experience. Although we didn't rush home to make Bagna Cauda we were glad to taste it in it's local habitat (and apparently impress some of the locals as well).

Unlike Sicily, no two dining events were alike. From the aristocratic and historic Al Cambio to the cutting edge Combal.Zero (both in one day!!) our food encounters stretched from local Piedmontese to classic to modern. We discovered new wines like Arneis and thoroughly enjoyed our visits to unique local wineries. I could go into so much more detail but I know you get the point. And, the highlight of the trip was hands down getting to go on an actual truffle hunt, watch the process and ultimately see our dog
discover the grand prize.....twice!!!

Yes, there were days when we were ready to hold up the white flag and say...."please, just some short nap time" but in hind sight, there's nothing I would have chosen to miss.
Arlene, thank you and thanks to Alan Tardi for the tremendous amount of work and effort he put into making this a trip to remember.

Dear Arlene 
You and Alain have a truly remarkable talent to make people happy. It's what makes it so much fun to be with you. I think our little group was especially nice this time around - and, of course, the gorgeous food and incredible flow of wonderful wines spoiled us rotten once again. I am only about 45 minutes away from running for another airplane
but will come back to you with some thoughts toward your future when I get back the week of Oct. 27. I may suggest some destinations but most of all want to let you know that if I can help you in any way in your planning - I wouldn't dream of having any suggestions for food or wine, of course - but may have some insights on local attractions or knowledgeable people if it's an area I have been to. Til then - again, you topped yourself. I had a fantastic time. love to you both

Thank you, for yet again, another wonderful trip. Once more you have provided us with a wealth of unique memories. The diversity of experiences was fantastic. From Bagna Cauda and Bolito Misto to Filetto di Vitello alla Carlo Alberto. From an al fresco lunch at Renza’s rustic restaurante to an elegant dinner at Castello di Verduno. Cheese tasting to chocolate tasting. And who will ever forget truffle hunting with Mickey and Flavio, the breath taking views and magnificent palaces and our great traveling companions.

So once more, from the bottom of our hearts we thank you for all your hard work that has given us so much joy.
